These days everyone is talking about workplace happiness. So does that mean we don’t care about customer satisfaction anymore? Of course not! Who says employees and customers can’t feel tickled pink at the same time?  Everyone knows that emotional vibes are catching and not surprisingly research indicates helping your customers feel happy has the great side effect of making your job more enjoyable too. Which in turn will make customers want to come back more often, which will increase your companies business and that is why you’re employed in the first place!

So what can you do to spread the joy around while you’re on the job?

Make customers feel good

Smile at people when you talk to them and if you know their name use it. Everyone likes to feel welcome.

Be interested when people talk to you. When you show interest in what people have to say it puts them at ease and makes them feel valued as a human being.

Invite people to join in the conversation, this can be especially meaningful to customers who don’t have many people to talk to in their lives.

Show them the way

Chances are you are more familiar with your business than your customers are. Give them the know-how they need to make the most out of visiting your company. Get them to notice a unique feature or limited offer. Immerse them in the experience and ask them to share it with friends and family.

Serve Willingly

We all understand that going out of your way to give customers the best service possible is good for business, but did you know that it's likely good for you too? Research indicates that those who consistently help other people experience less depression, greater calm, fewer pains and better health. They may even live longer.

Doing good can boost your bliss by; making your feel needed and effective, increasing your sense of connection with others, make you feel generous, add a sense of purpose and meaning to your work, take your mind off your own worries for a while and generally remind you that you are relatively lucky. So go ahead – Make their day!
