My wife and I were at Lowes today to exchange an item and pick up plumbing supplies. I’ve worked in retail, so I understand there are a lot of details to attend to, but this was ridiculous. There were 3 people “working” at the return counter. OK one of them was working, and two of them were in the corner talking about the pricing on an item, they had their backs to the customers. There were at least 5 people waiting in line. After over 3 minutes the employee who actually was helping someone told the others to turn around because there were customers waiting. “Talker #1” stepped up to the counter and as I walked up to him, he turned and walked away without saying a word! After another minute of shuffling papers “Talker #2” came to the register and asked if I paid with a credit card. She gave me a refund instead of an exchange. In fact she never even asked what I wanted. Next time I’m going to Home Depot.
